This Genuine Full Silver Mounted Hill violin bow is stamped W.E. HILL & SONS. This particular stamp was used in the 1950-s and 1960-s. The faceplate is marked with the number 14, which is the mark of John Clutterbuck. He is a master bowmaker craftsman, who was with the firm between 1964 and 1971.
This bow has a Vuillaume-style frog attachment. The work is stunning and the moment you pick up the bow you feel that this is pure quality. And it is in excellent condition. Bows crafted by Mr. Clutterbuck’s during his time at Hill are priced up to £14,000
