With rental prices starting at just £0.49 per day, it’s the perfect way for anyone to enter the world of music without the large upfront cost of buying an instrument.

What’s Included in Your Rental Outfit?
Our rental instruments come as a complete “outfit,” which includes the instrument, bow, case or padded bag, and rosin—everything you need to start playing right away. Simply unpack, and you're ready to go!
For hygienic reasons, shoulder rests for violins and violas are not included in the rental outfit. However, they can be purchased separately and sent along with your rental. Celli, of course, don’t require shoulder rests.
We offer three levels of instrument quality: Classic, Premium, and Deluxe, and the Apprezzato model is also available for rent.
Rental Prices Start From:
£15.00/month for a Classic Violin (sizes 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 4/4)
£18.00/month for a Classic Viola (sizes 12”, 13”, 14”, 15”, 15.5”, 16”)
£47.00/month for a Classic Cello (sizes 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 4/4)
The best part? You can easily swap sizes without any hassle. One monthly rental price applies to all sizes—simply arrange an exchange and continue on the same plan. That means you can focus on what really matters: playing and enjoying music!
Expert Instrument Setup & Sound Adjustment
When your rental instrument first arrives in our workshop, it undergoes a thorough set-up and sound adjustment to ensure it’s ready for optimal performance.
First, the fingerboard is carefully resurfaced to eliminate bumps and hollows, creating a smooth playing surface and adding a scoop to prevent unwanted noises. Next, the topnut is reshaped to ensure the strings flow smoothly into the pegbox. We also give the pegs the attention they deserve—fitting, lubricating, and repositioning the string holes for a seamless tuning experience.
The soundpost is often too far in, not aligned properly, or poorly fitted, so we make necessary adjustments for perfect placement. The bridge starts as a blank slate, requiring detailed shaping and fitting to make it fully playable. We don’t stop there—each saddle gets polished, and the tailgut length is carefully adjusted to enhance harmonic overtones for richer sound.
Once all parts are properly adjusted and reassembled, we tune the instrument, and it’s always a pleasant surprise to hear how much better it sounds after our expert attention, even for our starter instruments.

When you rent with Bridge Street Violins, you can apply 50% of last year’s rent towards the purchase of your next instrument or bow! It’s a fantastic way to save for a future purchase without even noticing it—every rental brings you one step closer to owning your own instrument.
Terms & Conditions:
A maximum of 12 months' rent can be applied to your purchase.
The incentive must be redeemed within 3 months of ending your rental agreement.
The incentive is only available if you choose to stop renting and purchase an instrument, bow, or full outfit instead.
The instrument you purchase does not have to be the one you were renting—it can be applied to any instrument, bow, or full outfit purchase.
Rental Terms:
Classic Rental Packages: Minimum 6-month rental (ideal for new players to get comfortable and make the most of their rental).
Premium, Deluxe, and Apprezzato Rental Packages: Minimum 12-month rental.
No Mid-Contract Rent Increases
While future price increases for rental packages may occur due to logistical or environmental factors, rest assured that your monthly rent will never increase during your contract or while the instrument is with you on a month-to-month rolling agreement.
