Product Information
The Apprezzato double bass is the perfect choice for advancing students or young professional players, combining high quality with unrivaled value for money. Every instrument is made in a small family workshop in Beijing.
The team of expert craftsmen carve the panels by hand from carefully selected European tonewoods to ensure the best possible tone. They use solid European spruce for the table, European maple for the back and sides, and smooth ebony for the fingerboard. The wood is seasoned for strength before being handled and finished with an oil-based lacquer which improves resonance and gives it an attractive antique sheen.
Supplied as instrument only, the Apprezzato double bass bows in French and German styles.
A descendent of either the viol or violin instrument family, the double bass is the largest and lowest pitched instrument found in a modern symphony orchestra. It also features as a concerto soloist, within chamber ensembles and outside of the classical genre in styles including jazz, blues, rock and roll right through to rockabilly, bluegrass and many varieties of folk music. The instrument is usually played pizzicato (plucked) or arco (bowed), a mixture of both is common for orchestral and tango music where other disciplines including jazz, blues and rockabilly favour pizzicato.
