The Ludensian Violin - Vintage German, made late 19th C
This violin is currently out on loan to the violinist to prepare for the LDCS March concert.
This is the ‘Ludensian’ violin (meaning ‘from Louth’), and it it for sale through us on behalf of the Louth and District Concert Society.
A lovely example of German workshop work around the turn of the century, or a little earlier in the late 1800-s.
The instrument model is inspired by Amati patterns with wide and sonorous upper and lower bout measurements. Measuring 356mm on the back, bridge position is at 194mm and neck length is 130mm, resulting in an active string length of 329mm
This makes this instrument a great choice for concert work and chamber music. She is easy to play and very approachable.
An informal and honest sound recording (meaning: without studio embellishments, augmentations or edits and therefore pure) can be found HERE
100% of the profits will go to benefit the LDCS (Registered Charity Number: 1040197), which organises professional concerts and community musical events in and around Louth.
