The varnish is a luscious amber-brown with red undertones over a ground of deep yellow. The varnish layers are composed of water based grounds over a spirit based colour layer and finished off with an oil based top layer for protection and durability.
This violin was played in the 'Scratch Messiah' from G. F. Händel in Vlissingen, the Netherlands and it has toured through Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland afterwards. And now it has returned to the UK looking for a forever home.
