Product Information

Violin pegs play a crucial role in maintaining tuning stability, and over time, they can wear down, slip, or become too tight to turn effectively. When pegs are beyond repair, replacement is the best solution for optimal performance. Our professional peg replacement service includes:

  • Expert fitting of new pegs to ensure a smooth, secure fit with optimal friction.

  • Precision shaping and tapering to match the pegbox for seamless functionality.

  • High-quality peg options in ebony, rosewood, or boxwood, chosen for durability and aesthetics.

  • String hole positioning for even winding and tuning efficiency.

  • Polishing and finishing for a smooth, elegant appearance and effortless handling.

We ensure that each peg is expertly shaped and fitted to your instrument, restoring ease of tuning and longevity. If additional work is required, such as pegbox bushing for oversized or worn holes, we will advise on suitable solutions.

Postal Service:

We understand that visiting our workshop in person may not always be feasible. Therefore, we accept instruments sent to us via post for peg replacement. Please note the following:

  • Owner's Responsibility: All shipping costs and associated risks are borne by the owner. We recommend using a reliable courier service with appropriate insurance coverage to protect your valuable instrument during transit.

  • Packaging Guidelines: Ensure your instrument is securely packaged to prevent damage.

    • Loosen the strings slightly to reduce tension on the instrument during transit.

    • Wrap the instrument in soft, non-abrasive material such as acid-free tissue paper or silk before adding protective padding.

    • Use foam or padded inserts to protect against impact—bubble wrap should never touch the varnish directly.

    • Place the instrument inside a hard case or a well-padded box.

    • Pop a note inside the package with your name, email address, phone number, and return address so we know who your instrument belongs to and can get in touch if needed.

    • Use additional padding around the case to prevent movement within the shipping box.

    • Clearly label the package as 'FRAGILE' and ensure it is securely sealed.

  • Booking: Before sending your instrument, please contact us to schedule the repair. This helps us manage our workload and provide you with a timely service.
