Servicing your existing pegs is a cost-effective alternative to replacement, improving their function without the need for new fittings. Our professional peg service includes:
Lubricating pegs for smoother tuning and reduced friction.
Repositioning string holes for better string alignment and improved tuning stability.
Improving the peg fit to the pegbox for a secure and reliable hold.
Refitting and re-doming peg ends to reduce weight, enhance appearance, and prevent catching fingers while tuning.
This service does not include peg replacement or peg hole adjustments. If additional work is required, we will advise on suitable solutions.
This service is available exclusively at our Billinghay workshop.
Postal Service:
We understand that visiting our workshop in person may not always be feasible. Therefore, we accept instruments sent to us via post for peg fitting and refitting. Please note the following:
Owner's Responsibility: All shipping costs and associated risks are borne by the owner. We recommend using a reliable courier service with appropriate insurance coverage to protect your valuable instrument during transit.
Packaging Guidelines: Ensure your instrument is securely packaged to prevent damage.
Loosen the strings slightly to reduce tension on the instrument during transit.
Wrap the instrument in soft, non-abrasive material such as acid-free tissue paper or silk before adding protective padding.
Use foam or padded inserts to protect against impact—bubble wrap should never touch the varnish directly.
Place the instrument inside a hard case or a well-padded box.
Pop a note inside the package with your name, email address, phone number, and return address so we know who your instrument belongs to and can get in touch if needed.
Use additional padding around the case to prevent movement within the shipping box.
Clearly label the package as 'FRAGILE' and ensure it is securely sealed.
Booking: Before sending your instrument, please contact us to schedule the repair. This helps us manage our workload and provide you with a timely service.
