A lovely vintage 16 inch viola with a French style body in an Amati pattern.
The lower body of the instrument is proportionally large compared to the compact upper and middle sections, this shape produces a beautifully deep bass. The viola responds well and is easy to play.
String length 367mm; neck length 145mm; body stop 217mm
The body stop is 5mm shorter than a standard Viola, the neck length has been proportionally shortened in line with the body.
This instrument would be the perfect partner for a player who struggles stretching to interval distances of other 16 inch instruments.
