Product Information

This exquisite handmade violin from the workshop of Czech luthier Myron Procak who settled in Norfolk England, crafted in 1984, showcases exceptional craftsmanship and tonal depth. Known for his meticulous attention to detail, Procak has created an instrument with superb projection, balance, and a refined sound.

The violin's red-glazed varnish is a feature historically linked to Italian violin-making traditions, believed to enhance resonance and tonal warmth. This finish gives the instrument a distinctive character both visually and sonically.

With ebony fittings and a carefully carved maple and spruce body, this violin is a true testament to expert craftsmanship. Fully set up at Bridge Street Violins, it is ready to meet the demands of professional and advanced players.

The front is crafted from fine, evenly grained spruce, the neck, ribs and one-piece back are of mesmerizingly flamed maple. The model’s design closely follows a Stradivari pattern. The varnish is of a deep sparkling red with golden yellow undertones in the ground.

(Length of Back 359mm). With the new set-up the instrument gained its full potential of a clear, yet deep and responsively balanced sound.

Violin Care Tips

To keep your violin in great condition and ensure it maintains its best sound, we recommend the following care tips:

  • Storage: Always store your violin in a cool, dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity, as these can affect the wood.

  • Cleaning: Clean your violin regularly with a soft cloth to remove dust and rosin build-up. Be careful not to touch the varnish with your fingers.

  • String Care: Check your strings for wear and replace them when necessary. Avoid over-tightening the strings, as this can cause unnecessary stress on the instrument.

  • Bow Maintenance: Regularly check the tension of the bow and keep it properly tightened when not in use. Always re-hair the bow when necessary to maintain smooth performance.
