Product Information
Completely refurbished and professionally serviced. The fingerboard has been resurfaced and polished, topnut adjusted, saddle adjusted, soundpost adjusted, NEW despiau bridge fitted and trimmed, and peg gears are oiled and cleaned. The instrument further benefits from a fullNEW Belcanto string set. Although the bass is a small-ish 3/4 in length, the wide bouts more make up for it and the sound is full, very rich, balanced and warm. The instrument is responsive both bowed and pizzicato and with a string length of 104cm very easily playable.
The instrument is made of solid wood, and shows a lovely flame and pattern on the back, rib sides and neck. The measurements are as follows:

Upper bout width: 480mm,
Middle bout width: 350mm,
Lower bout width: 640mm.

This Double Bass has been professionally set up by our resident Bridge Street Luthier to give you the best sound quality available. This set up includes peg adjustment, finger board resurfacing, top nut adjustment, sound post and bridge fitting, adjustments for optimal string height and playing comfort.
