Product Information
Amber or Light Rosins are usually a hard material, creating a crisp and bright sound with a pronounced ‘attacca’. Suitable for temperate to warm climates. Light rosin is hard and brittle as it gets harvested from the tree in winter, when the saps inside the rosin are at a low and the tree is dormant - think crystalised honey. Light rosins are more intuitive for the thinner treble strings and easier for violins to create a sound.
Hidersine Rosin is made from a carefully selected blend of wax and pine resin.
In order to create the rosin, the selected blend of ingredients are heated carefully, allowing the wax and resin to melt and mix together.
Once the rosin is to temperature it is poured by into a small pouring jug and then poured directly into the mould which has already been placed on the Hidersine branded cloth.
Whilst the rosin is still in the mould, they are flamed to remove any surface imperfections.
The rosin is still made in the same way, using the same recipe that was first developed by Francis Hider, almost 100 years ago. In doing so, a handmade, authentic and artisan connection is delivered to the product and to the musicians who use it.
