We offer professional Baroque bridge replacement, custom fitted to your instrument for optimal tone and historical accuracy. Each bridge is carefully carved to suit the width of the feet and the arching of the top plate, ensuring a secure fit and excellent sound transmission.

This service includes:

• Removal of the existing bridge (if present)

• Inspection of the instrument’s arching and setup

• Custom fitting of the bridge feet

• Shaping and trimming for period-appropriate sound, projection, and playability

• Final adjustments to height, string spacing, and alignment

The price includes a Despiau Superior quality bridge blank, chosen for its fine grain, excellent density, and tonal performance—well suited to historically informed playing.

Baroque bridges are styled and set up for gut string tension and period performance, enhancing tonal warmth and resonance in line with early music practices.

Availability: This service is available at our Billinghay workshop.
Post-in service: Instruments can be posted to us at the owner's risk. All shipping costs must be covered by the customer.

Packaging guidelines:

• Loosen the strings slightly before packing

• Wrap the instrument in acid-free tissue paper or silk before adding padding

• Never allow bubble wrap to touch the varnish directly

• Use a hard case or a well-padded box

• Clearly label the package as FRAGILE
